Crooks get real. It's 4 to 4.5 hours average commute for those living in Central Suffolk... unless of course you live across the street from or IN Ronko station, and work right by Penn .. please. You've been touting this 2.5hrs for ronko baloney for so long. It's 2 hours average for Nassau. Even in spite of TheBS19 giving a first hand experience with it, youre still peddling this 1hr and 9 min express train theory. So what, there's 46 min express service to and from Massapequa/Park and no parking issues in the Village. That doesn't mean it will take less than 2 hours commute time. Still about half the time it will take out in central Suffolk though. Time is money.[/quote]

Peqs.

Im throwing the BS flag hard now.

Your really oughta get your LIRR facts sraight. Pequa to NYC 57min
Ronko to NYC 69 Min.Please STF up already with your silly assed assertions that you have a wormhole to midtown under Big Chief Lewis ; ).

Its not the last 12 min thats the killer ITS THE FIRST 57.

Pequalogically speaking.

I dont know what that means, but Im sorry if living in the shadow of a ghetto as a white man has made you hostle over the years.

Patchogue Village is much nicer than it used to be and its certainly better than most of Bellport (and ALL of North Bellport).

I wish you well in your hunt.Who knows maybe we'll see you on the Youtubes soon ...remember RP is still 95% your favorite color lol ; )

Remember, youre always free to leave. I sense your anger is strong and I understand your frustration. Dont take it out on Patchouge. The Village is a huge success story considering where she came from.

Apples to apples, best case scenario would be 47 min to SE Nass or 69 min to Nicolls rd.

So what youre saying is that its a little under an hour to live in S Nassau and a little over an hour to live in the Boonies.
My bad, dealbreaker.

I second this account. Did the same commute execpt into Penn then down to Water Street on the express (3 stops MSP, MP and Seaford) - took about 1 hour 20 minutes. The local would take about 10 minutes more.

I third it. "That doesn't mean it will take less than 2 hours commute time." is what I wrote...regardless if express service is 48 minutes. To be fair though, we are in the SE corner of Nassau right on the N/S border and I'm certain GPS lives about a 7-8 minute drive from the station,? I'd still stick with the average commute time for Nassau being around 2 hours, Central-Suffolk double that.

Busier stations like Merillon ave & Mineola which have tons of people from surrounding Central Nassau towns using these, RVC, Great Neck, Hicksville, Valley Stream etc, are around 35 to 40 minutes average (time spent on train).

You make it sound like its an effing cake walk from Nashole Peqs.

Cut the crap, I know folks who spend over an hour getting to NYC from Douglaston. You can exaggerate the distance Suffolk is to NYC all you want to justify your own compromises, but it simply doesent change the fact that 60 mi from the biggest city in the world is by no means far.

Let's net this out shall we? A little under an hour on the rail for 40x100, insane taxes and more Urb than Burb? Or a little over an hour for some elbow room, good schools and a much better quality of life? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm? The saddest, most tragic part of the Nashole mindset is that they value their commute above everything else. What a damaged measuring stick that is.

Believe it or not Peqs, it might actually be worth an extra few minutes on the train for some as witnessed by the fact that Ronkonkoma is the busiest station on LI.Youre running out of turd polish my friend, please stop touching yourself with the hard sell, the draw is fading. People vote with their feet and last time I checked Suffolk county eclipsed Nassau in population and was home to the the most valuable Real Estate on the Island.

Youre more guilty of propelling this distance myth than just about anyone on C-D.

Stop

Using Pequaman's figures and my own experience on the LIRR from both the Massapequa and Ronk stations -- it is longer than a matter of 22 mins.

It takes me (on a good day) 30 mins from the time I walk out the door of my house in Stony Brook (Nicolls Rd) to the time my feet are on the platform at the Ronk station. 30+69 = 99 mins

It took me 15 mins (on an average day, hitting lights on 107) from door to platform. 15+47 = 62 mins

Or (back to Exit 62, Nicolls Rd) I walk to the SB station (12 mins) and hop on a peak train which will take anywhere from 98 mins (peak) to 113 mins (off peak.) 98+12 = 110 mins

For a commuter, the extra 37 mins/day (Ronk-Mass) equals 17,760 mins additional commuting per year (assuming 2 weeks vacation) or 296 hours per year or 12 days spent commuting.

Needless to say, I am very happy that I only ride the LIRR to go into the City for entertainment. Lord knows I would have lost my mind if I were a commuter.

I am glad I never had to take the LIRR. I think I have taken the LIRR 6 times in my whole life.

Could this possibly be because of the fact that many points east (central LI) and north east don't have fast lines into NYC? If someone is in between PJ and Ronk, PJ-Penn at 7:45 is 109 mins vs Ronk being 85 mins -- which would you choose?

If the PJ line were faster, Ronk wouldn't be so busy.
