I have a craftsman and it's excellent. Make sure you get a 2 stage machine. I got the smallest (and cheapest) 2 stage snow thrower sears sells, and it has been great
With the way the weather is, I can't see needing one any time soon.

I said that 2 years ago and got screwed. Better to be safe than sorry. You should talk to your neighbors and maybe you can all chip in for a nice one. Take turns using the machine and storing it and you can all benefit.
My neighbor and I bought the Troy Bilt 26" from Lowes when they had the 15% off sale. It was right after Hurricane Irene, and everyone was flipping out looking for generators, so in the frenzy we picked one up just in case.
Good deal if you split it up, as if I bought it myself, I would end up doing their house anyway and vice versa. Cost like 350 a piece.
Guy on 111 in Hauppauge has them out on display. Looks like a mom an pop place, not sure what brands they have. But they're displayed outside.
