we are a family with 2 girls, age 10 and 7.
we want to move to long island and got confused..
i checked: Jericho, Sayosset, and garden city.
I also want to check GREAT NECK, ROSLYN,CEDERHURST andWESTCHESTER
My husband works in midtown(at times squre).
I would like to know:
commute to Manhattan- which has the best way
2. community feeling
3. the best school district
4. what ever you think will be good to know...

Do you have a Budget or a pricing range, etc.?
I would suggest Port Washington. School district has high test scores (but remember: Motivation at home is the key to success in school), the population is 25% foreign-born so you won't be a standout, and the Port Washington branch of the LIRR does not go through Jamaica, which is a pro if your husband will be taking the train to work.
