Is the OP asking because they are looking to move and want to make sure their district has full day?
I think a lot of districts may change to full day because the state levels for reading and math just changed so I cannot see how they could teach that much in a half day program. Also they get money from the state for full day programs.
It has nothing to do with budget cuts, theres a school of thought that full day Kindergarden attracts those who cant afford child care or to stay at home.
Weird.

Ummm, no. You have to live in the district to send your children to the school.
1/2 day Kindergarten is a money saving ploy 100%.
Is't it odd how many "Good districts" screw their taxpayers??
Me neither. Most schools went to full day kindy because they get more money from the state. That's the reason GC said they were going to full day about 6 years ago. GC actually didn't have traditional half-day with A.M. and P.M. sessions - I think the kids went 8:30-12:30. Now they go one hour less than the first graders. So the bus comes and takes the kindergartners home and then goes back takes the 1st graders home 45 minutes later. Talk about your colossol waste of resources.
I think Kings Park has half day.
Actually that kinda makes sense. It requires less buses (and drivers), and makes it less chaotic when school lets out.
