Have a friend visiting from out of town for a short period of time. Already took them to the city, but would like to show them a piece of eastern Long Island. Is anything open, worth seeing this time of year out there?
I personally just like going to the beach right over ponquoge bridge, bring some brews and dress warm...then drive through dune road a little ways and then back up to POW / MIA whenever you feel like it.

Greenport. The downtown is nice with little shops and restaurants and a pier you can walk around on. You could do a vineyard and Greenport easily the same day.
on the way back, try dinner at the Jamesport Country Kitchen. Great food.
