Did anyone catch last night's (1/31) episode.
It featured a couple and their dream neighborhood was Garden City and their budget was somewhere in the low-mid 400s. Of course they couldn't afford GC so Egypt (the host) took them to homes in Merrick, Lynbrook and Bellmore in their price range and noted they could be comparable neighborhoods....I'd venture most GC residents would disagree.

I believe the episode was shot last summer as it was warm. Sandra is no longer hosting. Most of the homes were outdated although the Merrick property was decent looking.

My wife was watching an encore that was played later, and I was listening and turning to look at it every once in a while (I was going to sleep at that point). We were trying to figure out where the wife was from, as they said Merrick was closer to her family than Bellmore, and the family was about 15 miles (or minutes? I forget) from Merrick.

Missed the episode, but I never know if these shows are new seasons or old episodes during the housing boom.

Surprised, if they were in Garden City they didn't go a town over to Stewart Manor where homes might be in the couples price range.

I can see why they would not. Stewart Manor has an awful school district. I would sooner chose a home in Merrick or Bellmore. However, none of the other areas are comparable to Garden City IMO anyway.

I found it hilarious that it was one of the only episodes in which the couple did not in fact commit to the purchase of a ridiculously over priced home! (Only on Long Island) The inventory was just awful and certainly not worth 1/2 of a million dollars. Real estate agents and home owners that watch that biased show are still kidding themselves. Hurray to those buyers.
