My tax return is nothing crazy, no stock gains or supplemental income. Its up to $200 now.

What do you guys pay and for what?

If its not complicated, go buy Turbotax and do it yourself

If it's simple. I always say do it yourself. When you go to a store front. They use the exact same software. That you can buy in a store. It's a waste of money.

It's step by step instructions. Very simple.

Nothing. I use Excel to lay it out and do the calculations. However, with the software available today, it should be even easier for most people.

I don't have kids, large purchases, a house or anything like that. Basically I pay 25 bucks for state because I get federal for free.

My cpa last year told me to do turbotax but not submit and then proved to me that $300 to him for for ours and our daughters was well worth it. We would've paid feds $4,500 and Andy Cuomo $503. He got it down to $3100 and $390. He signs it so his license is attached.

Dh does his business and our personal himself. Try TurboTax. Our CPA started creeping up the charges too.
