I always (even as a child in the fifties) knew about Cherry Grove. But, who cares? You're right. Gays are great for property values.

Hey clam not many gays actually live in sayville. It just happens to be where the ferries to the pines and grove are.

I never thought that either, but lately actually, I have heard some people call it "Gayville". And, not in a pejorative way (at least not in my mind).

Not all of Fire Island is gay, like others have stated. I think you are only thinking of the Cherry grove and Pines areas.

I go all the time and can tell you it is an island of communities for ereryone. Ocean Beach, Atlantique, Saltaire, Kismet - all family oriented with a singles scene as well (in OB mainly).

We crab too - go back!!
