W are very happy in hhh and we have friends who love plainview/old bethpage. The farther out you go east the more house you will get for your money-

I dont think you can go wrong in any of the districts. Success in school mostly comes from home I think.

The OP asked about neighborhoods. You cant tell neighborhoods from a map.

Find a house you like in a neighborhood you like.... ask to see the tax bill and you will see what SD you are in.

It appears to be the area just to the north of Wolf Hill Road and east of Old Country Road.

A map of the Hamlet of South Huntington in the Town of Huntington, Suffolk County:

South Huntington is one of those many villages and hamlets on Long Island where none of the places in the community have the community name in their mailing address: places in the Hamlet of South Huntington have a "Huntington Station, NY 11746", "Dix Hills, NY 11746" and "Melville, NY 11747" mailing address.

You have nearly 800K to spend on a house - but yet the best you can do for your children is to pack them off every day and send them to the government to be educated? I'll never understand that kind of thinking.

MMMMMMMMMMMMM..wow...good observation actually.

for me I never understood buying a house much anyway. It used to be the asset that always appreciated. However if it was up to me buying a 400k house and putting my kids in a private school vs 800k and letting them eat pink slime and sit in class bored all day ... I know what is more important to ME

I was thinking the same, why not put them in a Prestige private school. I rather spend 500 and the rest to put them in a private.

What are these prestigious private school you are speaking of and can you prove they are better than some of the top public school systems?

Actually we thought about less expensive house + private school option. Any recommendation for private schools that do better than top public schools ?
