I wouldn't rent out to strangers. You have to know someone who is looking for a cheap place to live who you can trust at least a little bit, as opposed toa stranger.
I agree! OP should not rent to a stranger! You're taking a big chance even if you think you know the person. (There's no getting to know a person like living with them.)
Who is that lady next to Kenny when he says his wife left him (and took a chihuahua)??

HEY! Where's part 2?
Maybe it's his girl toy ? That plaintiff looks awfully familiar ....He's quite a character I must admit.
Here are 2 & 3:
Yeah the plaintiff is familiar. I also agree do not rent a room in your house. That's why I never want to be a landlord. I have heard many horror stories from co-workers who rented out Apts. in their homes.
That is exactly what he was going to do, the house share and sell for $750 with everything included and access to kitchen, living room, basement, W/D, backyard, and computer room. There are plenty of house shares out there that are more than $700 a month, some are even $1,000, we're only asking for $700 and with the price of apartments and everything on the island, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. I'm just trying to find someone to help us find people because ads on Craigslist are not cutting it.
Does the place where you work have a company lunchroom where you can post a notice on a bulletin board? We had that where I used to work, and every once in a while someone would find someone to rent a room like that. This way you at least know the person through a coworker.
wow! u found my peoples court debut! the girl next to me was a witness and not a very good one so they cut her out of the show.
It was a close one. I would have ruled in your favor after seeing the facebook evidence. Although you could have collected much better evidence than a picture with your phone's camera!
Ronnie's mannerisms were screaming LIAR. Sucks bro. Next time I would really investigate the person before opening up your home to them. This guy seems like a career criminal.
Dude! the OP wasn't asking for anyone's opinion on whether or not he should rent a room out to a stranger. All he wanted was a recommendation on how to get the room rented. How many of you out there, that are so quick to jump with their know-it-all attitudes have just been laid off like the OP's cousin? It is very easy to say how much of a bad idea it is to rent out a room to a stranger when you are not having financial troubles, right?
