The thing is that the OP isn't moving to Brentwood. He/she's moving to Bay Shore (I assume it's not North Bay Shore) but with Brentwood schools.

I think that small southwest corner of the Brentwood school district (Brentwood Union Free School District - Brentwood NY) south of the Southern State Parkway is actually part of Bay Shore.

I think Brentwood may be the most severely underrated SD on Long Island. My cousins go to a Brentwood elementary school in Bay Shore and they love their school. I certainly don't remember loving my Massapequa elementary school that much, even though it's supposedly much better.
There was a girl at Lindenhurst High last year who had moved there from Brentwood (to which she had migrated to from Colombia). She was a high honor student at LHS but she still went screaming back to Brentwood.
The only issue most people have with the district is overcrowding.
