They are clearing away a ton of trees/land on trail state park that runs in between Plainview and Old Bethpage.

Anyone know what they are doing? At first I thought maybe they are going to extend the natrual gas lines (yay!). But they are clearing a TON of land for this. Makes me wonder what their plans are for this area.

Looks like I might have found my answer.

Looks like a twofer. An area of the LIMP is being preserved AND a new bikepath is going in. Sounds like some of the projects will overlap. Too bad more of the bike path and the LIMP can't be one project.
