Hi, I am looking to move to an area that would be good for a young (24) single male. Somewhere with a younger crowd, a fun environment, lots of things to do etc. I am also looking to rent if that changes anything.

The main place I have been looking has been in Long Beach. I am open to really any area including NYC. I do not want to go too far east so anything way out east is really off the table due to distance from the city. Besides Long Beach I have really not found anywhere else.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Astoria is great and lively, though may run you around $1200-1500 for a 1BR.

I was going to suggest Long Beach, but it looks like you've already suggested that yourself.

I have to say I think the top 2 in Nassau county have been suggested already/ Long Beach, Rockville Centre and Mineola. I would say a distant but maybe worth a peek depending upon what you style is would be Roslyn near the village on Main Street or Port Washington but again, these are both distant IMO to the others.

If you're not set on LI, there's always Hoboken, NJ.

I have to ask what is there to do as 24 year old in Mineola or Roslyn?

If looking in Queens.. Astoria, Long Island City, Sunnyside, Bayside.

On the on the island Rockville Centre, Long Beach, Huntington Village and Babylon.

Most of Brooklyn and Williamsburg has a young crowd too.

Jersey - Hoboken

West End of Long Beach, but you must like alcohol, crowded bars and no parking
