I did once ask for a free DVR, and they said no. Telling them I have their competitor's service would be lying, and they know that, since I am currently signed up with them. How can I get a rep to come by and offer a free DVR?
Call and ask for retention and tell them you're upset because your neighbor just got a great deal from CV and you think you're being overcharged and you're ready to switch to Verizon. The reps sometimes go from home to home, they are the ones that usually offer the best deals.
I will say this for the million time to people i know. We really don't need that fast of internet speeds. I worked at places that were trading and using a partial T1 in the early 90's and then for a T3 we paid a fortune. Now I am talking about a company with over 200 people. Oh and most of the companies like Akamie or Google did not have data centers all over the world to limit your hops.
That internet speed is useless unless you 5 people in your house watching videos all the time. Until Verizon forced me to upgrade I was running 2 home phones and 4 computers from home on a DSL line. People are obsessed with fast internet speeds they don't use.
Crooks i hear you and it's a shame what they are doing because the DSL is not really riding the copper anymore because the changed most of the lines to fiber. When they switched me from DSL to FIOS they used the same line coming down to my house, did not even go up to the pole.
CV recently stated they will change marketing direction & stop competing on price. Dolan's wife who is new in charge has something to prove.
The flip flop these two service 4x since they been competing on price. Nothing appears to have changed much with CV despite their claims. I may switch back to CV this summer again for another 2 yrs.
Only thing i sorta miss about CV is the clearview movie freebies. CV advantage is lower price, movie freebie & customer svc . Aside from those three, Fios is better in everyway throughout the years

Impossible....you NEED a fiber drop to the side of the house.
