Police officer accused of shoplifting baby food in Nassau County | 7online.com

Quote:
He is accused of hiding pouches of baby food using plastic bags and a bungee cord while at a Stop N Shop store in West Hempstead.

He was charged with petit larceny and possession of burglary tools.
What kind of a schnook is this guy? He makes around $150K a year and is so cheap he has to steal baby food. Looks like he's a pro thief too, what with all his little accessories he used to steal the baby food.

If they don't fire him for this, they're crazy!

He probably will just be demoted to a correctional facilities position after this.

Doesn't matter how rich or well off they are, people will always try to get something for nothing.

I guess you're right ... but stealing a low cost item like baby food is really taking it too far. The guy looks and is kinda old too ... I wonder what baby he was stealing it for, a grandchild?

Then he wouldn't be a cop anymore! However, that way he could experience both sides of the bars ... first do a short stint on the inside, then be handed the keys to the cells!

A bungee cord? Was he scaling the wall of Stop N Shop? LOL...I'm curious to know what the "burglary tools" were. I shop there all the time. The babyfood aisle isn't far from the door. Can't imagine the need for a bungee

Glad to know our tax dollars are paying NCPD oodles of money so they can steal babyfood

LOL...actually, I'm surprised people shoplift anymore these days. The stores have made it so easy to "not pay" with the self check out registers and the other little gadget. I love that little hand-held thingy that I see people walking around with. How does the store know if I scanned everything that's in the bags? I never saw a manager verify the items against the receipt after the scanner is downloaded.

I saw an article about how stores are losing a lot of money because of self check outs and the handheld scanners. Really? It took stores this long to figure that out?

the self checkout lines take about twice as long as even the most inefficient checkout clerk

They have cameras all over the place. You'd be surprised what they see. I would imagine places that have club cards will match it to you if they see you pass items at the self-checkout without scanning them.

Also, does anyone know if the cop actually has babies to feed or what??
