Exactly. Most people prefer both, when we were looking we had to have at least one. I think youll have a dificult time reselling it, notnto mention the storage issue.
I wouldn't go for it. The lack of a basement would concern me. I don't know about others, but I store a lot in my basement. As for my garage, I have a two-car garage that holds one car on one of the sides and holds all of my tools/things for outside (pool equipment/floats, things for the kids, our table and chairs) on the other side. We end up using both spaces for a lot of storage. The lack of shelter for a car would not bother me - the lack of places to keep belongings would though.
Is the house on a large amount of property? Like ChitterChatter said, you can always get a shed built to hold things for you. If you are really sold on the house/neighborhood, I would think that is your best bet. If not, keep looking.
I've seen a few dozen houses in the last few years, and I think I've seen maybe one with a car actually parked in the garage. Most people end up putting their junk in their garage.
I wouldn't buy a house without at least either a garage or a basement..you need one or the other for junk accumulation.
If your car was made in the last 5 years or so, forget about wasting your time garaging it. Modern cars do not need it.
If you've got a 1970's Datsun F10 - you'll need a garage.
