Came across this short (
The Day They Came Back) and noticed it was filmed on the Island in Glen Cove at the
Welwyn Preserve

So how many movies does the Island as a location star in. I know Crocodile Dundee II has a scene shot at the Vanderbilt Museum and the diner (Soviaro's sp?) in Huntington was used in another. Adventure Land was in an Alan Alda move (Sweet Liberty?) and of course the Fire Island Light House was a Post Office in Men in Black II.

So what other TV shows and movies was locations on Island in?

To name a few

Goodfellas -- Catalina Beach Club - Atlantic Beach (Karen's big job), Valley Stream but mostly Queens.
The Godfather -- mansion in the horse's head scene is Falaise at the Sands Point Preserve
In & Out (Kevin Kline) Northport and Cold Spring Harbor
North by Northwest Old Westbury Gardens

I've probably gone in the wrong direction by listing films which were filmed on LI, sorry. At least Goodfellas fits the request

North by Northwest was filmed in Glen Cove , right in my old eye doctor's home actually. The little white shingled police station where Cary Grant was arrested was right on 25A & used to be there years ago. I am not sure if it's still there, though. Why don't they have movies like that anymore ?

I didn't know one of my favorite movies N by NW used actual locations on LI. I always figured the LI scenes were just a set.

Turns out Citizen Kane also did some filming in Huntington at Oheka Castle.

Too funny about Debbie Does Dallas.

I remember when they made North by Northwest because my eye doctor Conrad Behrens allowed them to use the front of his house for the exterior part (when Cary was taken to his mother I think).
That other part was really South Dakota, though. I lived in Mitchell , not too too far from Rapid City .

Apparently, the Stony Brook rumor is false.

The Stony Brook Press*|*Tag Archive*|*Debbie Does Dallas

(This alumna is very happy--though I've always liked the story about George Takei aka Mr Sulu getting drunk at a party in H-Quad during I-CON!)

Thanks for the link AlexisT. I was on campus in the early to mid 80's, and then again in the 90's. Neither time had I ever heard the Debbie rumor.
