I am a pool person. If you live in Nassau, there is a really nice one in Bellmore by the ice skating rink (south of Merrick Rd, on Newbridge Rd). There is also another one at Eisenhower Park but I think it's indoors.
It's just me- and I'm not a resident of any town, etc.

Are you homeless??? You must be a resident somewhere. It makes a difference, let's say you are a resident of Nassau County, there are pools in Nassau County that have a resident/non-res fee. Same for Town of Hempstead (not the village) etc. I believe Cantiague Park has a pool, Christopher Morley, there's one in Wantagh (might be geared more towards kids). Dix Hills, must be Town of Huntington Resident but they probably have non-res fees. I think Nickerson Beach in Point Lookout has a pool.
Search the county website under parks and rec, and search each individual town as well.

You stole my thunder!!! If Nassau county there is also the Aquatic center at Eisenhower Park.
The OP did not say he was a resident of Long Island. Your residency can be in Lyons, France and you can swim at the pool in Jones Beach as long as you pay the fee. The other pools are only open to county or specific town or village residents.
