I go to Islip beach sometimes during the week. My question is why aren't their life guards on duty then? The sign says on duty from 10 AM TO 6 PM saturday, sunday and holidays. It's summer now, schools are out and the beach had tons of kids wanting to go into the water but most of the parents said no because there were no life guards. This is the first summer in a long time that I am off until school starts again so I don't remember if there were life guards on duty during the week last year.
