Does anybody have any recommendations for secondhand clothing stores that would have somewhat upscale Men's clothes? Anything on the north shore?

Well I don't know any thrift stores on LI that would have upscale although I imagine a goodwill near Asharoaken would have more high-end items then one near freeport. To be honest, the best thrift shops are in the city and Brooklyn. You can sometimes find high end here but you have to dig a little. Goodwill in Bellmore is alright- you get people from South Bellmore and South Merrick. I've occasionally spotted a few juicy couture items although that's not my thing. Good luck.

You'd probably be better off looking up clothing Consignment stores for more upscale attire.

Thanks. I will check out the goodwill in Bellmore. I don't need gucci type upscale stuff, just stuff like brooks brothers and Ralph Lauren etc, and not JC penny type stuff. I've lost weight and don't want to spend a whole lot on a new wardrobe.

There was a Junior League thrift shop in Roslyn a couple of years ago, not sure if it's still around.

I wish we had more thrift shops on the island. In Florida (and many other states) they have a Plato's Closet and you can sell and buy gently used clothing and they only buy name brands from you so you get good stuff for good prices. I used to shop their all the time but the closest one to the island is in Connecticut I believe.

Breakingpoint- there are 2 places in Williamsburgh where u can do that- Beacons Closet and Buffalo Exchange. Most of the good thrift shops are in the city though.

Yeah I like Buffalo Exchange, my friend SWEARS by that store! But it's in Brooklyn I would love something a little bit closer! haha. Maybe one day I haven't heard of Beacons Closet though. I'm probably going to the city this weekend so I'll check it out! Thanks
