There's a 3 br listed in the MLS in Glenwood Landing. They take pets. It's the North Shore School District. I know the street it is on very well. Quiet street and the kids can walk to their elementary school.

And it is within your budget.

Take the LIRR into Jamaica from the Glen Head station and then subway to work.

Kitchen looks pretty decent for a rental!!

You're definitely not going to find any place to rent in GC especially in your price range. Maybe try Rockville Centre

Greenlawn, Harborfields schools. But that is probably too far for your husband's commute if you want under an hour. It is western Suffolk, not Nassau. My husband works in the city but not every day. He works from home a couple of days a week.

Rentals are high in RVC - except for those assigned to Oceanside schools.

There aren't a lot of single family homes for rent that will take pets.
