What is a popular town or beach for young people to hang out in on Long Island?Like what is the south beach of Long Island? Or the Georgetown (not the Univ) of Long Island? Or the Venice Beach of Long Island, or Meat Packing district of Long Island? Or the Las Vegas of Long Island?

As others mentioned, Rockville Centre or Long Beach, but they are nowhere (nothing!) near South Beach or Vegas. I wouldn't even mention the South Beach of Long Island b/c it doesn't exist.

I don't think there is any equivalent of that here.

Okay then, how the Austin TX of Long Island, or the riverwalk in San Antonio of Long Island? Or French Quarter in New Orleans of Long Island? How can you guys not have a South Beach though? You have plenty of beach, a wealthy population, lots of visitors who go to your beaches.

Most of our beaches are not built up with hotels and amusements.

not nearly as many as the Jersey Shore, which is sort of the point.

Regardless, this thread is ridiculous. The French Quarter? Riverwalk? Why would anyone expect an area that is basically 99% spread out suburb to have anything close to the equivalent of these destinations?
