Hi, I came across a thread on here somebody was asking about this area, but it was 10 years ago lol. How is this neighborhood? We came across a couple houses in the point of woods area (Craig Drive) They look very nice with big lots. We just lost a home to another offer after them accepting our offer, so we are out looking again for a house. The thread I'm referring to was mentioning how Walt Whitman Schools were not as desirable and recommended Harborfield Schools over this area. No kids yet but we are planning on having kids in a year or so. Is this a desirable area? Thanks
Price range $500-550k...I know it's not that high for LI...how about the Triangle Section of Melville? Area looks nice, I know it is the same district too (South Huntington)....

That area is fine, its convenient since 110 and the Norther state are extremely close. Once you go south of Old Country road and NY ave its still 11747 but changes to HHH schools. There is a reasonable Colonial on Ross with low taxes a shade above your price range on the market now. It's across from what is considered the triangle closer to white post.

Depends on what's most important to the OP.
Craig has fewer rooms and needs some updating, but has a full acre. Location is more private than Ross.
Ross is more updated and has a full finished basement (CO?) but only .14 acre, and three of the four bedrooms are small. No masterbath - common bathroom upstairs is down the hall from the master; taxes are lower than Craig and would/could make up for the price difference.
Same schools, different public perception re mailing address.

Ross is HHH not SH. That small section is all hhh. It is a small lot, it’s pretty quiet over there every st except 1 or 2 is a dead end backing up to Schmidt’s farm or the back side of the villages. Very little traffic since the streets go no where.

Ooops - yes, you are correct, Ross is HHH SD
When traffic is bad, people have been known to cut through (via Arlington) to get to Old Country Rd when traffic is bad; I've done it myself. To some buyers it won't matter about having a large piece of property (full acre vs. .14)
