I hate this damn place. I want to move out so badly. Only 25, so i can pretty much pack my bags and leave whenever I want. Just need a nice, quiet place. With nice people, good bars(with good wings!), good looking women.... and a job
Any ideas? heh
At 25, I wish you were more optomistic. Sometimes, we need to look within ourselves instead of at our surroundings in order to find happiness.
LI just has NOTHING to offer, that's why the prices are so high and no one can afford to live here. Yes, I want to live in the boonies, goodbye LI. I am sure it's nice there in the boonies....
Of course LI has a lot to offer, but it just keeps coming at a higher and higher price in dollars and convenience.
Don't forget that once upon a time that LI was the boonies, and that's why our parents moved to LI. Open space, inexpensive stand alone housing, with the cost for many being a hour commute into the city and a physical separation from the neighborhoods, friends and family that they grew up with. Same as what a lot of us are doing now.
Buffalo is freezing cold but otherwise it's pretty awesome.
Buffalo is fantastic but the economy is very bad and the job market thinner then the ice that forms during the winter on Lake Ontario. Housing is very affordable though real estate taxes are higher then they should be.
However it's a very easy city to travel to. Plenty of great restaurants and loads to do in your leisure time.

Funny thing is, I could give you a really long list of reasons why we would've stayed on Long Island and a short list of one as to the reasons we didn't.

Here, here. Peace out, yo. Yes, LI a victim of its own success. This place is too crowded, no one wants to live here. This place isn't worth the money, people pay too much for houses here. Boy, I wish I lived in a place with nicer people, let me move to a place with acres of land and virtually no social interaction.
Let me know when you find this place so that I can come , too. (only live 1/2 mile away ).
I just moved to LI from the Baltimore suburbs. It ain't so bad here. Stop whining about the expenses and get a better job! There is a place to work on every block.
Good Riddance! Have fun in NC with the bugs and the oppresive heat. Have fun finding a baseball team to root for. Oh yeah, you won't have one. Have fun pretending the Tax's won't increase in wherever you are going. Just look around and see all the new folks moving to NC. The local politicians know you have money and they need to boost social services in the coming years... Just look at South Florida 10 years ago. Used to be a bargain.
