Eventually there probably will be scanners that track a car, compute speed and distance and then subtract the amount due (incl. speeding fine) from an account like EZ Pass. The technology is already available.
They have been doing this for over a decade already

No one would be using E-Z pass if they started mailing speeding tickets to you.
The law that allows E-Z Pass specfically precludes their data being used for speed enforcement.

Do you thinks Long Island would have been better off having tolls? You would have to pay a toll to get into certain towns.
Is this Mangano or Bellone? Brilliant! Tax cap at 2% so add tolls! That'll teach those cheap taxpayers! And don't use the toll money for roads...use it for pension obligations and contractual raises! LI math.
"Better off"?! Exactly how or why? Like families and businesses aren't fleeing fast enough, let's add tolls!
