Ok, seriously sick of this rain! Is it just me or does anyone else feel like it has just been raining all the time? Only Wednesday and it rained 3 times this week! I do not ever remember it raining 3 or 4 days in a row as a kid- this is fairly new. So is it a global warming thing or what?
Regardless, a drought sounds amazing right now. I feel like i just went swimming. No better feeling than that of being in a pair of wet jeans all day.

I'm rather tired of the rain myself! Can't do any gardening

You don't want a drought, take it from me. I came back to LI for a visit in October 06 (maybe 07?) and it rained (poured) the whole week. It's just that time of year. Make some soup and enjoy it. I would love some rain right now.
As for the jeans, keep an extra pair in the office. Socks too.
You're not the only one. I have more mushrooms growing in the rose garden than roses!
This time of year is usually dry and pretty blue skies and fluffy clouds. Popular time of year for weddings. I feel sorry for the couples who planned early Oct weddings.
Our kids' pumpkin picking school trip was cancelled this morning for this afternoon because of the rain though. But right now it's as sunny as can be... they could've had it after all.
LI is one of the most humid places in the country. Even the winters are wet. I'm not talking about the hot type of humidity, but humidity by its true definition..that being the percentage of air that is saturated with water. Just go to weather.com... You'll always see the humidity %'S consistently higher than most other parts of the country. There is a reason that Jersey/NY women have high, big hair. Its all in the humidity
I don't mind it. We had some sun here this morning. temps in 60's are comfortable. I would rather have summer like temps all year but hey, it's the northeast.
I don't mind the rain. What I DO mind is the hot one second cold the next and then back to hot weather we have been having. Like today....cold and wet in the morning, sunny in the afternoon. I don't know if I should be sending my kids to school with rain coats, sweatshirts, coats or in shorts half the time. So far, removeable layers seem to be the best bet.
Right now, I am parked outside my kids' school waiting for the older elementary grades to be dismissed. I am watching schoolmates exit with raincoats, sweatshirts, jackets, short sleeves, shorts, rain boots. LOL. Talk about confusing!
