hi, I am thinking of buying a property in Manhasset. However, the house I am looking now belongs to "Shelter Rock Elementary School."(according to the seller's info) There is another elementary school in Manhasset "Munsey park Elementary school". I have searched online and compared both schools. It looks like Munsey park is better than shelter rock. Do you know anything about if those 2 elementary schools are zoned? or parents have a choice between this two schools? Can anyone share your comments about the differences between these 2 schools? Thank you very much!
My husband used to teach in Manhasset at Shelter Rock. It is definitely the better of the two schools in terms of curriculum, administration and staff. He was involved in curriculum development and testing parameters for children to be "accepted" into the "advanced" subject classes - by far Shelter Rock was the fairest and the best. He also never liked how the principal of Munsey Park ran her school. While Munsey has the newer addition to the building, it doesn't make up for the other more important educational pieces!
