I am doing a 5k charity run tomorrow in Baldwin, and I know the funeral services for Officer Lopez are being held in the area so they're closing some roads. There's some info on Newsday.com but I don't have a membership so I can't view the article. It says Merrick Road is closed but that's all I caught.

Anyone know anymore details, like specifically which roads will be closed and also the time the closures will start? No idea how anyone would know but anything's possible!

Merrick Rd will be closed from Charing Cross Rd to Grand Ave from 10am-3pm, so the sign says, just drove by this morning

If the turnout is anything like my friend's was, expect roads to be jammed up for several miles around the church while the immediate area by the church is closed.

Yes, it's a mess around here. Took me an hour to drive 2 miles. I couldn't get to the parking lot of my apt complex, had to park down the road a bit. Poor planning on my part...
