I guarantee someone will turn you in. Finish out the year, and move to the other school in your district.

The school district sends mail out, kinda hard to ask the new owner of your home to keep forwarding it to you, no? Forwarding orders expire after a year.

Are you asking whether they can finish out the current school year, or whether you can have them attend (on the sly) indefinitely?

Chances are by the time you've purchased and moved into a new house, the school year will only have a few months left. If you are planning on buying in the same district I'm sure they will allow your children to finish the year at their current school. You will have to transport them yourself as the buses won't go off route just for you. Our district has allowed this practice for years, especially when a child is in their last year in a building.

If you try to keep your children in the same school without telling the district, you could end up being charged tuition if you've moved out of district.

You'll have to change your address at the school. Mosr School mail is "Do Not Forward".

We are in a good school district so they are very vigilant about who attends.
It certainly is not my business to jump ugly with you, but you obviously "think" there is a possibility that the principal will say no or else you would ask him/her. So then you think it better to hide the truth? You don't say what grades the kids are in, but have you considered that the teachers will hear the kids say they are moving or have moved or perhaps another classmate will mention it and then you will look bad.

My original example was meant to be very simplistic i.e. new owner vs. you in a child for child swap to explain a point. What about if there are transfers into the school for children who have legitimately moved into the district and that particular school would be their "home" school?

Stop worrying about the kids and the school, the adults fret over crap like this all the time and the kids make new friends very easily at that age. Your kids are more resilient than you think, it is you who is fearful.

Do the right thing , get the answer to your question and abide by the decision rendered. There are rules for a reason and it just may work out as you wish it to and it will all be above board.
