Looking for a decently priced wood/resin shed thats 8x8 or bigger.
Is $600 too much to expect to find one ?

For a shed that size, expect to pay more!

I have an 8x8 wood shed that I got from Costco a few years ago. About 1,000. BJ's has them too I think. I don't think you will be able to find something for $600. Maybe if you want to do the install yourself? I don't know.

The "reasonable" cost of anything is what YOU feel is reasonable and what you can afford. You have to decide if the amount of money you are spending is going to be used for a good quality long term item or trash that will have to be replaced in a few years. "Reasonable" cost for quality if very different than "reasonable" cost for trash.

That is low even for a rubbermaid or MAN style steel shed. Unless you build it from scratch, ecpect to pay more. More like $1500-$2k for an 8x8 barn style.

Home depot has a kit for 8x8 for ~$800, free shipping. I assembled a kit shed at my old house (handy home products), wasn't too bad. Will need a hand erecting it though. and you have to prepare a level base, I used 4x4s..

I would go wood over resin personally, can much more with it inside, add shelves, loft, etc.

There are some resin ones on HD site also that are pretty cheap if you prefer.

I was thinking the same thing, but then I said... If you put up a wood floor, can you not use that to erect shelves on the inside ?

There are some metal sheds that are totally under $600, but the reviews are not that great, especially the roof and such, kinda sucks.

As everyone said, I am looking at about a grand for what I am looking for.

You mean the $1000 included the installation too ? I think you got a sweet deal.

Figure 8x8 running closer to $1200-1500. The costs figures in when you compare quality. Things like 2x4 construction, nails instead of staples and prime lumber not scraps all figure into the price equation.

I had an 8x12 built three years ago and it ran me about $2200. It would have gone higher, but I limited options. I had to have a crew come on my property and build the shed, since the prefab sheds are trailered in and dropped on blocks. Lot's of prefabs use 2x3s and staples for cross members, shortening their life considerably.

Good Luck.

You can get an 8x8 installed for $1,000 through ShedsUSA. We had ours installed four years ago and it has held up very well. They construct the shed on-site, so it is not prefabricated.
