Ok I lived in Commack and commuted to downtown NYC and my commute was from Deer Park train station which was almost 2 hours. So I moved to Bayside, Queens thinking wow I'll have an hour commute, however little did I realize the lack of parking by the Bayside LIRR. So in Bayside I either have to park far away and walk to the LIRR or take a local bus to the LIRR. So by moving to Bayside I think I shaved 30 minutes off my commute plus I'm outsite more. This defeats the whole purpose of me moving. The parking here is not so good, there's so much traffic. I'm thinking of moving back to Long Island but to Nassau County to remain closer to the city. Does anyone know of any good areas where the LIRR has a huge parking lot to leave your car? I'll settle for a longer train ride as long as there is parking.

Default frustrated

Thanks for the response. I work downtown by canal street, so I don't think driving to Kew Gardens and taking subway will be any faster.

How long is the E express to downtown? There is an E that goes near church or chambers street I think.

Lived in Bayside Hills for a while and commuted downtown. I still miss that train line, even though I rarely go into the city for work now. My other suggestion is to get better at the parking thing . It was tough as I recall, and it is Queens, so space is tight, but I eventually found just the right side street at just right time and it usually worked out. Bell Blvd is a good time and the Port Washington line is a breeze. Why not work on the parallel parking instead of uprooting again?

I can walk to the train station in Babylon and be in Penn in less than an hour. There is plenty of parking if you need to park.
