Hello Everyone,

We're thinking about moving to Sea Cliff from Queens. I would really appreciate your thoughts and advice on:
Overall disposition of the people?
Best Pre-K in the area?
Sea Cliff Elementary School?
North Shore School District as a whole?
Sports and activities for the kids?

Bottom line, is this a good place for us to raise our children?

Thank you so much!

We looked there a long time and wound up in Glen Head. can't go wrong in either. sea cliff is small and quaint and has a vibe different from most of long island. hard to find something with a decent yard but there's a lot of parks and the school district is very good.

A good friend of mine lives there and really loves it. In fact, he moved there a few years ago from Glen Head. Sea Cliff has plenty of parks and the proximity to the Sound gives it a secluded feel. But to echo a comment, some of the yards are small. From what I know the school district is also good.

Very Nice! Not the easiest place to get to/from.

Fabulous village. I lived there for nearly 20 years.

There are many parks - Clifton being the largest. There's Sea Cliff beach.......I wouldn't worry too much about small yards.

As I look back over the last 50 years of Long Island, I think Sea Cliff is the least changed in demeanor. And that's a good thing!

The NS School District is great. No qualms there.

Have fun house hunting!

It's a little too sleepy for me, but it's probably a great place to raise kids and North Shore schools have always been top-rated. Just keep them away from Glen Cove Ave., which has started to get a little sketchy in spots.
