So what? What's 5 bucks for a day or two? I never even thought about it.

The Surf and Turf didn't exist when I was there in 2010. They really do try and get you into a single room (without needing to pay extra). The garage is $5 a day but with a vaginal delivery, you're there 2 days... it's not that serious.

I have been to both hospital's maternity wards and I loved Winthrop. Although I didn't need it, Winthrop has a better NICU too for very serious cases, which was piece of mind. South Nassau did not. I had both of my kids at Winthrop and highly recommend them.

I had my son in Winthrop in October 2013. They will give you a lot of help with breastfeeding if that is something you are interested.

I have heard great things about Southside Hospital and terrible things about Good Sam.

My wife didn't even get to see my daughter for about 8 hours because no nurse could arrange it (my daughter was in the NICU, and they couldn't find someone to bring my wife to the NICU). Parking was impossible - the small lot outside maternity was always full.
Which month your kid was born 2013? My daughter was born July 2013. They were saying it was soooo busy a week before because of all the "Sandy" babies. Just the day before my daughter was born, there was 17 babies.

I never park at the big parking lot since I got the mineola parking pass or we just park on the side street. But I remember LIJ is pretty expensive like $8 to $10 as well.

She was actually born on July 12, so that sounds about right. It was utter chaos.

Thanks, Sandy!

Mine was born July 18th. We kind of missed the crowd but lucky I was able to get a room all to myself especially I was having a cold. But I am expecting a lot of kids around July 2013 when mine goes to kindergarden

Sounds like most people like Winthrop than LIJ. (I never delivered in LIJ but it looks nice)
