Whit, I am surprised to see Patchogue so high up on your list. The Main Street itself is great, but the surrounding housing is downright scary.

Rocky Point before Stony Brook? I figured moving out of RP and into SB was an upgrade. The lesser parts of Stony Brook are comparable to the nicer parts of RP.
Miller Place just north and south of 25A meh. I would that below the Setaukets. When you write Setauket & East Setauket, have you broken out Old Field, Strongs Neck, and Poquott?
Old Field
Belle Terre
Strongs Neck
Poquott
Stony Brook
Setauket-East Setauket
Port Jeff Village
Bellport Village
Mount Sinai
Miller Place
South Setauket
Yaphank
Terryville
The Moriches
Rocky Point
Sound Beach
Centereach
Selden
Port Jefferson Station
East Patchogue
Patchogue
Shirley
Farmingville
Coram
Mastic
Mastic Beach
North Bellport

This looks about right OBH, I agree on Stony Brook.
I'd definitely breakout and bump E Setauket below Mount Sinai and Miller Place though.
It's got some real butt uglies nestled in there and is home to the low water mark of the three villages.
The dreaded critter section and 3v Ghettos Arrowhead etc.
Holbrook and Holtsville should be above Selden and Centereach and RP edges Yaphank on schools alone.

The only problem with East Setauket is that it includes some of Old Field South, which isn't crittery at all.
I did my list without schools, so I gave Yaphank's historic area the edge on RP for that reason. From a school district perspective I would flip them around like you've indicated.

Fair point on OF/Poquott too I think.
I think Setauket proper is much nicer than the vast majority of the Old Town areas of ES.
I also think a fair amount of South Setauket is as well. SSP in particular.
I love Historic Yaphank Village too.

There's a very small portion of North Bellport that isn't drug infested garbage (north of Sunrise; Atlantic Point, the houses off South Village Drive, and the three Sid Farber developments). Also, I noticed Medford wasn't on anybody's list, good or bad.
East Patchogue is weird, some of it is in the Bellport dumps, some of it is blue-collar homes, and the shore homes are really nice.
