Party Recommendations Near Stony Brook (Nesconset, Port Jefferson: rent, hotel, house)

Hi all,

Perhaps you can help. I need to plan a party in the spring for 80+ people. I live in Stony Brook, as do a majority of the people attending. We ultimately plan to stay over night in a hotel. Does anyone have any recommendations of a hotel and/or a catering hall near a hotel to suggest I have the party at? Of course, I am trying to be economical as I am on a budget.

I believe the Hilton Garden Inn on campus was slated to open in February.

The Meadow Club on Route 112 in Port Jefferson could be an option along with staying at the Holiday inn Express on Nesconset Highway, South Setauket. Both are within 4-5 miles of each and a straight drive. I would secure something real quick knowing your time frame and amount of people to accommodate.

Danford Inn in Port Jeff? They have catering and a motel/hotel there.

I forgot to add that the Neighborhood house is being remodeled and is going to be ready for Spring.

There is actually an Elks Lodge on Rt. 112 right near the Meadow Club - I am a party decorator and did a couple of sweet 16 parties there - its actually a pretty nice room - and the Holiday Inn Express is not far from there.

I will keep thinking........

SAC and Wang Center on campus rent space to outside groups. University Cafe is a great space but I am not certain if that is available to outsiders.

Meadow Club on route 112 south of 347. Also the Holiday Inn express on route 347 (probably considered south setauket). I would also check the price for the Watermill Inn. Even though the Watermill is probably out of the price range, its always better to know the difference in price because you never know.

Is that the house at the pond in Setauket? .
I went to a wedding there and it was great.
