I have to disagree with people who say News 12 is only on Cablevision.
In December I left Comcast and as of that time they had News 12.
I'm in NJ. I can't even use the phone app. Only customers
of Cablevision, Comcast and Time Werner can use it. I've got
Verizon Fios. News 12 commercials I saw on Comcast used to
say they were only on cable not satellite. I guess Fios isn't
considered cable. Why would News 12 be on the 3 other major
companies but not Fios?

In most areas Comcast and cablevision do not compete. usually its only one cable company per area.
News 12 is the one and only thing I miss about having Cablevision. The problem with Long Island news ever since WLNY was sold to CBS is that there just isn't much of a presence here, except for News 12. Fios 1 isn't just LI they cover NJ and Westchester news. Most other stations never reported on the house struck by lightning in Mt. Sinai or the big storms, except for News 12, which I was watching today while sitting in an eatery that I go to almost daily, just to watch. The problem is Cablevision has a monopoly on LI News with News 12 and Newsday, YES, I think they should be forced for carriage of News 12 on Fios. Long Island news coverage on WLNY as well as the other NYC stations & Fios 1 is very lacking, considering how many ppl live here. News 12 is the only real time TV news source for Long Island and should be carried everywhere due to public information concerns. As much as I hate it I may have to pay Cablevision $10 a month for it so I can watch over the computer. It may have gone up, not sure. I love Fios but when it comes to their news its a joke.

. news 12 can't be forced to b on other networks. Its a premium service for CV customers, just like the free Wi fi hot spots.
News 12 Really?
Reporting news that is 1-2 Days old. They keep looping the same news.
Save the money
I dont know but EVERY LONG ISLANDER was watching channel 12 news during the hurricane, provided they had power. why would anyone want to watch the new york city stations? to see whats going in there? *smh*
