I like old SB better than HOH anyway.
It still has alot of its old school, nautical charm.
Smaller older homes.Cool village feel.

Dont sell....rent maybe but dont sell.

Theyre not making anymore land down there : )

Not selling for a few more years as Child #1 has a little over 2 years left in school -- not going to uproot #1 now too much going on. At that point in time, if I were to sell, my move would be out of NY. Unlike the lemmings heading south I would be relocating further north.

But I do love my home here...provided that I am not taxed out of it in the future!

The house is what most people would consider large but is within the average size range for this immediate neighborhood. (NO it is not a McMansion by anyone's definition!!)
I love Brightwaters ; )

Sounds like a labor of love too.

My parents bought a house in Farmingdale for $44,000 in 1976. It's the biggest and nicest house in the neighborhood, and some of the upgrades are very high-end. It's a huge lot compared to the others in the area. Houses in their neighborhood sell for around $425-$475k. There's is probably worth $550k. The school tax assessment is $490k.

I am very interested in moving BACK to LI. Most of my friends that still live there say the same things as you. My family, of course, would like me to move back, but they understand why it's not such a great idea for my wife and me. Why do YOU think folks should get out of LI as fast as possible? I've heard all sorts of nightmare stories, but I'd like to hear your story. Thanks...
