I have one, Grandfather had made ages ago
Still has some cans, wine barrels and Collins radios. It has an airshaft pipe that leads to outside.
The pipe..It makes no sense without a filter system or air storage
Isnt fallout heavy ?

I remember in Groton Ct my uncle had one as well, same deal with the air pipe

Im school I slightly remember them rolling in this big TV and showing these goofy B&W "Duck and Cover" cartoons.
I think it actually was a cartoon of a duck !

In our air raid drills, they'd line us up in the hallway, kneel facing the wall and cover our heads with our hands. I always thought it was because the principal was comming and no one was allowed to see him!

All of that stuff was before my time. There was still lots of stuff in the school library about the A bomb, I found it fascinating. I still do.

Ever hear that story about the biggest H Bomb the US ever detonated? It yielded almost 12 megatons, about 50% higher than expected. Some observers who were supposed to be at a safe distance wound up having to hide inside the blockhouse for some hours while the radiation died down.
