Need some help on where/how to park there during the week?
I know that right around the station there are small lots with numbered spots for permit parking, but how do you get a permit? And is there a waiting list? Do you have to be a resident of the village, or can anyone apply?
Are there any municipal lots near the station that have free parking? Or on Deer Park Ave the spots on the street right around the station? (I think these are metered though).
What about side streets? Are they close enough where I can just leave my car in front of someone's house in a side street and not have to worry about getting a ticket?
As far as I know, you have to live in the VILLAGE of Babylon (not TOWN) in order to apply for a permit and the waiting list is very long.
There are spots in the parking lot but you have to pay for those (I believe 25 cents per hour).
I don't know of any "free" lots where you can park and, be warned, if you park behind one of the stores in their lot, they will have you towed. Also, metered parking on DPA (I think) is limited to 2 hours or they will ticket you and/or tow you.

Commuters who live outside the village can still apply for a permit, but it costs 3.5 times more than a village resident. And there is still a waiting list.
I can't believe you would leave your car in front of someone's house!
Is there a reason someone can't park in front of someone's house??? Do the homeowners own the street as well???
There's no reason someone can't park in front of someone's house. If you don't like it, move to a place like Brookville where there are private roads and no one can park in front of your house.
