Can anyone tell me anything about the Cove Landing condos in Glen Cove?

We see a lot of nice cars in the driveways and the place looks well-kept. We know about the murder there in 2006, but units have continued to be bought and sold regularly after that. We've also discovered that there are three registered sex offenders within a mile of the place.

The sellers are older people who came from a large home and, after a decade or so living in Cove Landing, are supposedly going back to a single family home in a nearby town. That seems like kind of an odd next step to us, unless there was something so objectionable about condo living that they decided they must have a home separated from neighbors. We're concerned that maybe they are moving because of a bad or noisy next door neighbor, although there could be a legitimate reason, such as they want a master bedroom on the main floor to avoid climbing stairs at their age.

Any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

If they are elderly and it's a two story condo they are likely finding that the stairs are too much for them.

My parents sold my childhood home and moved to a condo. After 5 years the stairs just got to be too much. They ended up moving to N.C. when my sister did, but if no one had moved out of state they would've had to move to a ranch anyway - which probably would've meant a single family home.

Now my mom REALLY can't do any stairs at all so it's a good thing they moved. Honestly, it's amazing how much things can change for older people once they reach a certain age.

Thoughts: It's interesting that one 3BR/3-1/2BA unit is $649,000. And another of the same size, $849,000. What's the extra $200K for? Water views vs. "winter water views?" The less expensive one is on the murder street, the other one isn't?
