Looking for some info on tree removal and stump grinding. Does anybody have any info on cost or approximate pricing. Looking to have (2) 40-50' tall maple trees removed ( not a lot of branches on either ). Each is only about a 12-18" in diamter at the base. Also, want the stumps ground down or removed as well as a couple other old stumps around the yard that were left by previous owner.

The reason I want one of the trees removed if to widen a single lane driveway and make it double wide from the two car garage up to the street.

Anybody know if a tree is cut down and ground down.......will the roots still grow and deform an asphalt driveway if its paved over where the tree used to be?

Thanks !!

just to let you know, you probably need a permit to do that (for both the tree/stump & driveway). don't want you to get into big trouble. i recc inquiring your TWP.

Got an estimate today for $1300 to take down and grind two trees and prune/deadwood three others. A few weeks after Sandy I got a quote twice that for less work.

I use All Island Tree . As for removing the tree and seeing the town for there bs.... Can the tree contact the house if it falls ? tell them it's a hazard you don't have the expense for and are removing foreseeable dangers.

Whoever stump grinds just make sure they go deep as they can , maples are not known for deep roots ,as long as they have the room to do it . When completed, have all the stump mulch/dirt removed and replace with RCA material (Recycled Concrete Aggregates) IF that is where the driveway is going and that should be strong and solid enough to asphalt over ... what little roots that are left should rot away and not be noticed .....

I am not sure if you're in Nassau or Suffolk but Goodman tree service out of deer park is excellent.
