I'm aware of that. All it is, is a simple software update that can change them but CV chooses not to at this time. Very suspicious!!! It is a very good feature to be able to restart a tv show to the beginning if you walk in prior to the end.

Ask on this forum. You can usually get a Cablevision/Optimum answer there.

Thanks. I posted my question there, so let's see if I get any useful responses there.

Default Samsung is profoundly poor in design

My question is: which box is better: Scientific Atlanta, or Samsung? Cablevision claims that the Samsung boxes are better, but I don't know if there is any truth to that. What do you recommend? Thanks.

Stay far away from Samsung cable boxes! They are horrible!!! I've built home theaters and such and Samsung is pathetic at best. It is extremely slow at changing channels (3-6 seconds) and often jumps back, on its own several channels,, it alerts you that you are not authorized to watch basic channels, it states that many channels are not available and delivers poor resolution. Not some, but almost every box. I've gone through at least 6 in a year and a half for just one monitor
