It would help if we knew where you were located.

We had ours pumped out in the fall and used AAA Cesspool. We used them because they were highly rated on Angie's List and they were great. We found them to be 100% honest and reliable.

Thanks everyone. I had it drained this morning. They poke the bottom the drain and filled with chemicals (acid?). Is this normal not to actually pump? It was filled to the top.

They opened the cesspool...stick this back tube in and poke around. They said they are breaking the bottom because it is sand and letting it drain like that. Then they stuck the chemicals in to dissolve the rest. Seems like this could cause problems in the future.

Normally they would pump down within a foot of the bottom, then poke the bottom so future liquid drains, then add acid to break up the grease on the bottom and sides. The only time they would just add chemicals without pumping is when the pool is old and there is a chance without the liquid on the inside of the pool the pool will collapse
