Until this forum, I never knew that Wantagh and Lynbrook have become cesspools. I also learned a lot about buses, trains, noisey planes, and that Long Islanders are so car-centric that when they do have to walk, they get confused thinking that they are cars and walk in the middle of the road with each person taking up a lane as if it were an 8-lane highway. I also learned how to raise chickens.

To be honest, it's only on this forum that I hear Wantagh, Freeport, Lynbrook, and Baldwin are going (or have already gone) downhill.
This forum has taught me that Father does know best -- I should have taken the test for the NCPD in 1982. By now I'd be living on the water on the North Shore, retired.

No you would be retired down south posting of all the advantages
Lol
I learned more about Virginia and North Carolina than I would think I should learn by visiting a Long Island forum, lol.
There are people desperate to sell their "dream homes" hoping to fool some more LI'ers into moving down south so that's why you see the sales pitches ...
I've learned that people who are obsessed with playing lotto have no regard for anybody else in line behind them while they scratch off the tickets at the register and then immediately cash in the winners and then can't make up their mind which tickets to buy next. Repeat process over and over until you are blue in the face or really late for work.
