i'm planning on leaving around 7:00-7:15am. would that give me enough of a head start to beat traffic and arrive by 9:00 on most days?
i'm also considering the LIRR to Ronkonkoma and leaving my car overnight on LI during the week, but that's a last resort since it would involve bayonne light rail>Hoboken>penn station>Ronkonkoma>drive 5 miles.
my advice would be to get a new job or move. If you're stuck doing this for a while, you should try to adjust your hours so you could start at 8:00 am. Regardless, the ride home is going to be worse than the morning commute. Good luck.
I would never leave my car anywhere overnight unattended, other than my home. And you absolutely cannot leave at 7am to make it to Hauppauge by 9am. You would have to leave more like 530am/600 max to make it there on time. This job better be worth that commute.

Bayonne to Hauppauge in two hours during rush hour? No sir.
It'll be a real fun commute home during the summer Fridays. Either move or change jobs. I'll bet my next paycheck that commute will burn you out in a week tops.
