Hello,

My husband and I are looking for a house on LI and have narrowed it down to Garden City, Floral Park or Rockville Centre. We have a one year old son. We learned both Garden City and Floral Park have town pools but Rockville Centre does not. Can anyone provide insight on where people there bring their kids for a swim?

Thanks,

Maria

Echo Park and Oceanside pools are probably the closest. Echo is open year round. (If you're looking for lessons, they start at age 5 though)

Eisenhower Park has the Nassau County Aquatic Center, open year round and I know they offer lessons.

Nassau County Department of Parks, Recreation & Museums.

I should have specified I'm referring to the summer season. Growing up my mom took us to the Dix Hills Town Pool and I have so many great memories from there. A real estate agent mentioned beach clubs but I would imagine they would be quite pricey.

Oceanside pool is great during the summer. It's a huge T pool. They do lessons there as well. Only downside is that it's right near the bay and the green flys are horrible.

I loved that pool. Grew up in Huntington and my mom acted like we were going to the ends of the earth every time we went.

Garden City has an awesome pool, but a lot of people do join beach clubs when their kids get to be middle school age. Very odd but that's the way it is.

I believe there is Echo Park on Nassau Blvd across the street from West Hempstead High School that has a nice pool.
