I don't have to do much of the complaining these days. There are many who are waking to the reality that LI is really worse off than originally thought, without any solutions to get back. They'll be the new complainers. As for whining, just review your posts on this thread and see who sounds like the whiner.

No! They provide reliable service for a reasonable price. Just like LIPA.
I don't think the OP was actually referring to the usual litany of valid complaints about the usual badness of life on LI. I think OP was referring to the aimless bickering, name-calling and generally high tension levels of LI forum members... as shown by your type of post.

Actually, the shame of the situation is that I didn't live that 'far out east'. Besides, what's not too 'far out east'? Mineola?
Nope, when you can make the drive during non-peak hours in less than 45 mins, but it takes the LIRR well over an hour during rush hour and even longer at non-peak hours, something's really wrong. Fundamental flaws in the design of the infrastructure and a system that does not reward performance are the real culprits, between the natural bottleneck they call Jamaica, to a lack of investment in technology (switching tower explosions not withstanding) and the nimbies. Admittedly, these issues have been discussed ad nauseum on this forum. It won't change in our lifetimes. And those huge capex projects, like East-side access, really who cares? MTA projects are huge holes for $$ and time.
Moving doesn't solve problems .... You have to make the best of it regardless of where you call home... Moving worked out great for me doesn't mean it would workout as well for others.. Everybody's situation is unique... Lesser taxes and fewer cars lol if that's all you could come up with, you don't have things properly planned.
