And I believe that's one of the only "Welcome to New York" signs on Long Island.
Nope, but I'll give you a hint; the answer is not at all what you would expect, and this specific place is far from any shore (about 3.4 miles away actually)
It is. Port Jeff ferry does not have a welcome to NY sign.
I will play (fun thread, btw). I am going to guess # 4 is the LIE or Grand Central. Specifically, the overpass over either the LIE/GCP in Queens by Flushing Meadows Park.
As for #5, I was originally going to suggest the picnic area of Sunken Meadow state park - but given its closer to Hempstead, I will go w/ Valley Stream

Well, you can see trucks and busses, so it's definitely not the GCP. Also, the GCP service roads don't look like that. It's definitely the LIE in central Queens-- just trying to pigeon hold exactly where.
