Hi all. I want to install a wood burning stove in my home to help reduce my oil use. I already have the stove (given to us as a "housewarming" gift, pun totally intended) but now the question is who to use to have it installed. My husband and I are pretty savvy do-it-yourselfers but I'm uneasy about taking this task on ourselves as I don't want to burn the house down lol. So any suggestions of a reputable company who can do the install when we didn't get the stove from them? And any idea of a ballpark cost? Any info/suggestions would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Do you already have a hearth/flue/chimney existing the hosue? If not you def need a pro- if that is all already there you should feel ok doing it yourself. Stovepipe is not hard to work with and you can easily find all of the code distances needed. If you have to install the pipe call to some chimney cleaning services and they often do this work or can reccomend.

We do not have an existing fireplace, hearth, flue, etc. so this really is out of our realm as far as DIY is concerned.

Make sure you get a building permit to ensure it was installed correctly....most are not to code.

Home much did it cost for the installation? I'm also looking at prices for a wood burning stove.
