I was at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Light the Night walk in Central Islip tonight, and noticed a sweet smell in the air - kind of like a flowery fabric softener. My mom noted that she had smelled it this afternoon on Islip's Main Street as well, and caught a whiff elsewhere over the past few days. It was quite noticeable. Wasn't our clothes, as we use non-scented detergent, or someone's perfume.
LOL that's funny. I smelled a similar scent Yesterday and found out it was the sweet potato fries and maple mayo coming from poppy's luncheonette in Islip. I work at the Subway on Main street and all I could smell was sweet potatoes.
